blue door whore

say hello to 471 7th avenue!
(note: you can click on any of these pics to make them BIGGER. super size please!)

sometimes things really are in black & white.
like my hallway.

map friendly living room. note lizzy & randy's adorable milk carton vase with lucky bamboo.

charmingly small kitchen that we thought was a match start oven/stove for our 1st month here. woops!

now that i get how to use our itsy-bitsy kitchen, i have taken to making treats like these cafe latte cupcakes with cappuccino frosting (and madi's fairy dust).

be warned...i will try to pawn these goods off on lucky YOU.

then you'll be in a sugar coma and need to take a nap in my room, which is fine by me.

but hands off my pretty clothes!

aren't these dress form decals cute? i got them off of etsy and love them to the extreme.
the little bearded men on the right are my boyfriends.

this is where i spend a lot of my time. a good little nook for job hunting, writing, and playing tetris/blocky.

my favorite jewelry gets a special dish for when i need to take it off while writing/typing.

"flower" (on the right) likes to dutifully watch me work. what a sweet thing.
and the squirrel girl serves as a mirror image...into my soul.

badger love.

i know this is a tad weird, but bettie page has become this really great symbol of an idea or philosophy of life to me.  this picture is a reminder to never take yourself too seriously, to smile big, and to embrace positivity...you still think i'm weird don't you? that's okay.

another great print i found on etsy. it makes my heart hurt.

view from our roof.  yup that little speck is indeed great lady liberty.

turn your head to the right and you can take in some concrete jungle.
take a glass of wine up here at sunset and soak up the fading day.

i hope you like my apartment! it's been a trying week, but my cozy home has been a good place to deal with the mess of life we all seem to be in. i am very lucky and thankful for that.

i'll take some pics of prospect park to share with you soon, too. the park is an addiction. i am always missing it. and when i'm there, the thrill of the changing leaves fills me with a calm that i can't even fully comprehend.

what else? last night meg, anna, and i had some much needed fun. and even better, the fun was had in BROOKLYN. we had a great dinner and tried out a whopping three new bars. one of them was having a rockabilly prom.  we were obviously in heaven with the music, clothes,du-wop punch, people watching, and eavesdropping there. and now i am back inside the snuggle-y apartment, trying to scheme up some sort halloween-y and autumn harvest party. nerd alert.

love!

i love how your room has come together! it is full of all things jackie. although i did notice a lack of a certain photo of a certain group of 6 roommates from a certain person's golden birthday... AHEM.

can't wait to come play at the now furnished brooklyn digs!
