you are what you eat

type in your zip-code and let the magic happen. here are the results (in nifty map form) for madison:

what a great site that let's you look up businesses which make use of local produce and farmers. do you ever think about where your food comes from? like how it got to your plate? because most of the time, if you really think about it, it is really gross. people are so distant from food nowadays, which is kind of sad since food is really such a significant and meaningful part of culture and of our human experience.

i'm not saying i was out in the fields pickin' my strawberries this morning, but sometimes i feel a little guilty. being connected to your food can only make you more connected to your community...to your land...to yourself. this sight breathes a soft hope that made me smile to find.

this site is seriously cool, even if you're okay with the fact that the hot dog you had for lunch came from saudi arabia or something. check it out, yo.

love!
